Would you like to be part of the Central Quality Assurance team which forms part of the Quality Directorate? The team currently supports both the whole business which includes the multiple Programmes. We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Quality Engineer at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be undertaking internal quality audits and support investigations as required, support in the facilitation and creation of processes and maintenance of the QMS and creation of process improvements and controls. Support a Function within the business by supporting the QIWT reviews to ensure Quality is managed within the Function and business

This role will provide you with the opportunity to learn about the whole business and work with a variety of different Functions.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Quality Engineer will involve:

Supporting & Conducting Quality Audits and Investigations

Providing functional guidance and facilitation on managing corrective actions

Maintaining the existing Quality Management System documentation

Facilitating Problem Solving events and Improvement

Supporting the QIWT framework to manage quality performance within the nominated business areas/functions

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential skills

An understanding of the importance of auditing with an awareness of auditing techniques and approaches, Plan and improve quality management activities; control process documentation and improve processes

An understanding of Quality Management Systems; ISO9001 or other standards

Stakeholder Management

IT Literate with a knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and the ability to update databases

Desirable skills

Lower level audit experience, involvement in Problem Solving groups and improving Quality using appropriate Tools and Techniques. Understand the main principles in maintaining a QMS

Knowledge of submarines would be desirable
