    SHIP REGISTRATION in PANAMA, BAHAMAS, MARSHALL ISLANDS

    Before undertaking the registration of a Vessel of any type or a pleasure or commercial Yacht it is important that you take into account several important aspects such as navigation geographical areas, purpose of the vessel, ports of charge and discharge , among many others aspects that will definitively guide you to making a decision that bests suits your commercial interest

    Not only in Panama , but also in other important registries like the Marshall Islands, Liberia, among others the registry process is structured in two primary steps, Preliminary Registration and Full Term Registration:
    1. Preliminary registration which has a validity of 6 month and is renewable as many times as becomes necessary.
    2. Full term patent which has a validity of 5 years.
    * Special registrations (with a validity avidity of 3 month, this registration is monthly used for (i.e. single delivery voyage, scrap, delivery, etc.)


    The Cost are calculated in accordance to the GRT and NRT of the vessel, in consideration to its main activity or usage. i.e. Reefer vessel, Cargo, Bulk Carrier, Fishing, Pleasure or Commercial Yacht, Tug Boat, Barge, among others.

    REQUIREMENTS: (VESSELS OTHER THAN FISHING) these apply to all vessels over GRT. 500: COPIES ARE SUFFICIENT FOR THIS STEP OF THE PROCESS
    1. POA in favor of law office
    2. Bill of Sale , ownership document, or builders certificate (whichever applies) *
    3. ITC (International Tonnage certificate)
    4. ISM Compliance ( SMC- Safety management certificate and DOC-Document of compliance )
    5. Security Code Certificates ( ISPS – International ship security certificate CSR- Continuous synopsis record )
    6. Application form (see enclosed)
    7. Description of radio equipment on board **
    8. Deletion Certificate* *

    * Copies are accepted for provisional registration. Original most be supplied for permanent registration purposes (duly legalized by apostille)
    ** Only for Permanent registration (see enclosed application form)
    Provisional registrations are executed mostly within 48 hours after submission of documents as described in points 1 to 6 above.
    Provisional registrations have a validity of 6 months.
    Permanent registrations have a validity of 5 years
